Drew Barkiewicz is Vice President of E&O, Cyber and New Media Liability. He is the founder of The Hartford’s business to insure the systemic risks and liabilities associated with The Internet, Technology, Cloud Computing, and Social Media. He is a Board Member of ORMA and is an advisor to the World Economic Forum’s council on the Future of the Internet. He is also a board council member of the Ponemon Institute and Cloud Connect, and author of the upcoming book, Unseen Liability.
Prior to joining The Hartford, Drew founded another line of Technology risk insurance for a company that went public as Darwin Professional Underwriters.
Previously Drew was the Regional Manager at salesforce.com in South Europe and the Vice President of Marketing at BroadVision Software, where he was a also task force author on the 2001 Brookings Institution book, Unseen Wealth. He started his career as a Director for United Technologies, U.S. and Europe, and was a U.S. Army Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division in Italy.
Drew is a graduate of West Point, holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and speaks Spanish, French, and Italian. Unseen Liability is due for publication in early 2010
